Control of Hazardous Energy Sources (Lockout/Tagout)
The professionals at W F Biggins Associates have extensive experience with the control of hazardous energy (lockout/tagout). This standard addresses what practices and procedures are necessary to prevent the release of hazardous energy during servicing and maintaining equipment.
To begin, we start by auditing your facility to establish an inventory of your equipment, identifying the types of and magnitude of energy (including stored energy), and locating lockout/tagout points. Next, we assist you in establishing your energy control procedures and in selecting your lockout/tagout equipment. We will then prepare and publish your written program.
Lastly, we train your authorized employees, your affected employees, and other employees in the hazards of the energy involved with your equipment and on the contents of your program. We also train your employees on their various responsibilities in the safe management of hazardous energy at your facility using interactive classroom techniques. Authorized employees are trained in specific detail regarding the hazards of your energy and in the procedures of your program.
